  i do not know how the blogger who posted this infamous wt cover (5/15/84) got all the names of those who posed for this magazine cover, or whether the names are even correct, but if he got it right, man, what a provocative statement.. .

  On the Bluetooth angle, could someone with a laptop in the parking lot of the KH maybe send the images to people inside? What is the range?

  Theoretically, yes.

  Dependent on the Class, range is up to ~100 meters. Using a laptop as the transmitter of the message is certainly advantageous, as Class/range is directly related to transmitter power output, which in turn would be sized up for the energy source - i.e laptop battery vs. mobile device battery.

  setting is obviously in the "new system", i'd say quite some time after the big a. everything looks neat and clean, so it can't be just few months or even years after the big slaughter.. let me point out few things that made me laugh:.

  Setting is obviously in the "New System", I'd say quite some time after the big A. Everything looks neat and clean, so it can't be just few months or even years after the big slaughter.

  Let me point out few things that made me laugh:

  • Every effort was made to depict natural materials, but you see leather straps with metal rivets holding the picnic basket lids. Metal rivets!? Who made them?
  • Guy in the foreground has a perfect haircut and is clean shaven. He wears a shirt with a pretty sophisticated pattern. Where did he get scissors? Where did he get his new sharp blades to shave? Who hand-made this intricate pattern for his shirt?
  • Woman in the foreground has a nicely tailored shirt with what looks like elastic bands in the middle. Elastic bands? Also, hair neat in another elastic band. More elastic bans?
  • Fruit is perfectly peeled and sliced. Who makes sharp knives? Still using the pre-A leftover cuttlery?
  • Glass or plastic pitcher with floating ice cubes. Glass? Plastic? Ice cubes? (refrigeration)
  • Boy in the blue shirt is holding what looks like a plastic toy. Plastic toy?
  • Girl in pink shirt seems to have buttons on the back. Plastic buttons?

  These are just a few; cracks me up to see these utopian pictures so disconnected from a post-catastrophe reality that is not even funny.

  Sir, I speak Russian. The 7/15 Study edition is not available in Russian in PFD yet (only the Public). I will also keep an eye on the Bulgarian editions (the last PDF there is 6/15 Study) and will update the thread if/when they show up there.

  I listened to the Russian 7/15 MP3 and it seems to be 1:1 with the English version. Only difference was the word "execute" was substituted with a softer "does not take the life away from" version.

  How to email JWs at the Brooklyn Bethel?

  does any one know how to send emails to jws in the brooklyn behel or else where in the wtbts organization?

  is the email address format [email protected]?

  in this day of technology it would be very hard to believe that the wtbts doesn't use email to communicate with elders, cos, dos, branch, and bethels.

  Youtube JW Goes Against WT Admonition to Admonish Apostates

  this sister in the video below calls us "stupid", "slanderous" and nearly says, "libelous", but oh, darnit, it's not a word she is use to saying .

  this lady has about 125 vids talking about the jw's, the wtbts and stuff.

  she goes against the wtbts's admonition against having such a channel and against engaging apostates with admonition of her own to dole out.

  An Interesting Turn of Events

  big development.... i got a text message from my sister at 1:45 am that said: "i just told (my other sister) that i am disassociating myself.".

  we have been texting back and forth and i guess she told my mother the same thing.. memorial night seems to have been the clincher for her - she was very upset about three interactions with the elders and i guess she just had it.. we did talk a little bit that night and i very carefully mentioned some research i've been doing.

  i didn't get into it too much.. but she basically agreed that like me, she believes in god, jesus and the bible but not so much the 'organization'.. she is going to be talking to my family more today.

  HS,

  You mentioned your sis has some health problems. She can tell elders or nosy a-holes that she is under a lot of stress, even magnified by the health issues and she needs some time to get better. If they press, keep saying it is a private matter and I do not want to discuss it. And yes, I have prayed about it to Jehovah and the best thing now for me is to take some time off to help me get better.

  This should get them off her back for a while, then if they insist on shepherding visits, tell them it is not the time yet when I am ready to come back. I am the only one who knows when I am ready to come back...

  Then rinse and repeat.

  Hopefully this will help.

  As LWT says, keep her mouth shut (this mat seem harsh to say, but is the ONLY thing that would keep her out of trouble.

  One of the very few times I am ashamed to identify myself as a native Bulgarian...

  The violence is inexcusable!!

  The troublemakers are just that - troublemakers looking for a fight to pick. JWs happened to be in their crosshairs. The VMRO has a long history of moronic behavior and is used behind the scenes by other political parties for dirty political games.

  In the beginnig, the protesters were shouting: "Turks, get out" (a reference to the ethnic turkish minority), WTF?! to them JWs, Turks, whatever didn't make a difference. Yes, they had the: "We don't want the Jehovah's Witnesses" posters, but I bet if you asked anyone of them who the JWs are and what do they stand for, you get blank stares.

  JWs may spin this any way they want, it was not persecution. It was an act of senseless and needless violence.

  I was FORCED to go to the Memorial…

  I am about 2 days late and at least $2 short to the party, but here is my story.

  Who forced me to go?

  Well, I forced myself…Why? The “keep your enemies closer” thingy…

  First off, a brief background. Mrs. is a successful fader – her last KH attendance was the 2010 Memorial. Thing is, she is a fader moreso for convenience, than for any other reason. She doesn’t like the time commitment, having to get dressed up, drag the kids, etc. On the other hand, both of her parents (father Elder and a mother reg. pioneer) and her grandmother, to which she was very close, have passed away and I can see how it’s difficult letting go of the hope that she will see them one day. So wifey is a fader, but an unstable one…

  Fast forward to Sat. morning. Her phone rings and, I guess no caller ID or whatever, the elder’s wife she “studied” with gets a hold of her. After the pleasantries, elderette asks the usual BS: “Where you have been, we’ve missed you, people are asking for you” blah, blah…Mrs. Says: “I’ve been busy with kids and life, etc.” OK please come to the memorial. Now Mrs. has to go. I don’t have to – never been a JW and knowing what I know, I don’t want to go.

  But….

  There is NO WAY in hell, I am sending Mrs. in for an indoctrination session, without being there to try and keep up with the mind control tactics.

  Here are a few points of interest from the “experience”:

  1) There are 5 elders in the congo, each one of them more than capable of doing the service, and I have seen them do pretty god job – not on contents, of course, on delivery – articulate, engaging, etc. The speaker this year was from Wallkill. Here is the kicker – he shows up wearing a bow tie. A FREAKING BOW TIE!! I have attended about 10 memorials over the last 15 yrs, few DCs, few CAs, bunch of meetings, read some watchtowers, flipper through Awakes – never did I see even ONCE an exemplary brother with a bow tie….to top it off, the joker was not the most literate speaker I’ve heard – transposed letters a bunch of times (as in “aks”, stumble, forgot the name of the congo, etc.).

  My take - it was arrogance. He was different, he was from Wallkill an he made it known throughout the sales pitch.

  2) We all know the time allotted for Jesus, vs. the time for Jehovah and the 2 class system. Blame Adam, praise Jehovah (for sending Jesus) and DO NOT PARTAKE. A total of no less than 15 mins was spent explaining why we should not partake. Speaker used a really cheesy “proof” that we are all meant for earthly life, just because we can imagine very well what it would be to live in Paradise Earth. Since the earthly utopia paints a better picture in our minds than heavenly life, earthly hope must be what we are meant for. WTF? Moron, of course we can imagine Earth better, this is the only place we’ve ever lived….

  Also, the number of partakers was used to make a point: Last year 18 million attended, only 11,000 partook. See, such a small fraction. At the same time I want to interrupt and ask aloud: "Trend it for us brother, say for the last 4-5 years and explain why is the line going NE, instead of SE". Of course, I can't do that, not with Mrs. and kids by my side.

  3) There were numerous comparisons with the anniversary of the Lord’s evening meal to marriage – how special it is that even celebrating once a year it still shows the significance of the event. Later, though, when comparing “exercising faith” (only showing up to the memorial once a year is not exercising faith, according to him), to marriage again, now we are supposed to do it daily, just like one would appreciate their mate daily, not just once a year. OK, you just told me the opposite of what you said 5 mins ago.

  And all that marriage talk – the “brother" didn’t even have a wedding ring…I guess he is an expert in marital relations…

  4) Salvation by works – his words: “Jehovah REQUIRES us to attend Christian meetings twice a week"!?! Ummm, hello! Scripture, please

  5) Joining in will require us to make “adjustments” but the payoff is that Jehovah will erase our sins like “the teacher erases the wrong answer from the black board”. Again, scripture for having to stop celebrating B-days, New Years, join sports clubs, forego College, avoid your unbelieving family and friends, pound the pavement in pairs on your own time and dime, etc, etc, etc.. SCRIPTURES, PLEASE!!

  There is more, I don’t want to bore you to death.

  On the way out, the elder who was my “study” conductor chases after us and asks how things are, etc. are and I told him “Great! Never been better!” He: ”Oh good” (puzzled look, fake smile, whatever). Then he turns to Mrs. and says almost sternly: “We will be in touch with you later” WTF?! I know what it means, but I really wanted to clock him right there for talking to my wife like that, I wish it happened at a bar..I would have been downtown posting bail…

  So, I guess Mrs. Has opened herself for an “encouragement” session – I don’t like it, but I may be able to somehow use it against them. It is for me to figure out. I love her so much to let her get sucked back into the cancer.

  I may be asking specific related questions at a later time.

  I know you are technically reading, but thanks for hearing out my ramble.
